Terms of Service

SECTION 1 - Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this website, booking a session, submitting a form, or viewing content, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable policies referenced here. If you do not agree, do not use this website.

SECTION 2 -  Services Provided

Jie Su Studios provides boudoir, portrait, editorial, commercial, and social media photography services. All services are subject to availability, artistic discretion, and the policies outlined here and in your booking agreement.

SECTION 3 -  Booking, Payments & Fees

3.1 Booking & Retainer

• All sessions require a non-refundable retainer to secure your date.

• Your session is not confirmed until the retainer is paid.
  
  

3.2 Remaining Balance

• The remaining balance is due on or before the session date unless otherwise stated.

• Non-payment may result in cancellation.
  
  

3.3 Rescheduling & Cancellations

• Rescheduling: One reschedule is allowed with at least 7 days’ notice, subject to availability.

• Cancellations: Retainers are non-refundable. No-shows or cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in forfeiting all payments.

• Studio/Location Fees: If your session involves a rented boutique space, cancellation policies may also be subject to the venue’s rules.
  
  

SECTION 4-  Session Expectations

4.1 Photographer’s Creative Authority

By booking, you acknowledge that:

• The photographer determines posing, lighting, editing style, and artistic direction.

• Final images reflect Jie Su Studios’ signature style (classic, modern, contrasty, empowering, minimalist/emotive depending on session type).

• No RAW photos are provided.

4.2 Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

• Arrive on time.

• Follow studio guidelines, safety rules, and photographer instructions.

• Respect the rented location(s) and be responsible for any damage caused.

• Refrain from consuming alcohol or being under the influence of alcohol before or during the photoshoot, to ensure safety and maintain the quality of the session.
  
  

SECTION 5 - Image Delivery

5.1 Turnaround Time
 Galleries are typically delivered within 2–4 weeks, depending on session type and season.

5.2 Image Selection

• Only edited images chosen by the photographer are delivered.

• Additional edits or retouching requests may incur fees.

5.3 Archiving
 Final images are stored for up to 6 months. Long-term storage is not guaranteed.

SECTION 6 -  Copyright & Usage Rights

6.1 Copyright Ownership
 All photographs remain the intellectual property of Jie Su Studios.

6.2 Client Usage

Clients receive personal-use rights, meaning:

• All delivered digital files are high-resolution and intended for personal online sharing purposes only.

• You may save and share images for personal use.

• You may not sell, alter excessively, or use the images for commercial, business, or promotional purposes without written permission.

6.3 Studio Usage

 With signed consent (Model Release), Jie Su Studios may use images for:

• Portfolio, website, social media, marketing, or promotional purposes.
  Without consent, images remain private.
  
  
  

SECTION 7 - Privacy & Confidentiality

• Boudoir and portrait sessions are handled with the highest confidentiality.

• Your images are never shared without your signed consent.
  
  
  

SECTION 8 - Limitation of Liability

• Photography sessions may involve movement, props, or set pieces. Clients assume responsibility for their own safety.

• Jie Su Studios is not responsible for weather, accidents, venue limitations, technical issues, or delays beyond reasonable control.

• Liability is limited to the amount paid for the session.
  
  

SECTION 9 - Refunds

All fees are non-refundable, except if the photographer cancels and cannot reschedule. In that case, all paid fees will be returned.

SECTION 10 - Changes to Terms

Jie Su Studios may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website or services indicates acceptance.

SECTION 11 -  Access and Account

By booking a session or using services on www.jiesustudios.com, you represent that:

• You are at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence.

• You have the legal right to book sessions for yourself or, if applicable, to provide consent for any minors under your care to participate in a session.

To book or access services, you may be asked to provide certain information, including:

• Your name, email, phone number, billing information, and session preferences.

You represent and warrant that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete, and that you have the necessary rights to provide it. 

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of any account credentials, login information, or booking accounts you create. You agree that you will not:

• Transfer, sell, assign, or license your account or booking to any other person.

• Allow anyone else to access your account without permission.
